Just checked this blog for the first time in a while and it’s gained so many new followers despite nothing going on!

Suppose I’d better give you an update. I’ve made quite a few freelance corporate videos over the past year. All of them demonstrations of really cool cooking equipment. I’d put the videos on here but 1 - they’re not exactly riveting and 2 - my clients prefer to keep them on the down low.

I’ve also been gearing toward making another chat show! We even filmed a pilot! I’ll post it after this message.

And I’ve started to explore other avenues and I’ve started selling really cool toys online. None of the normal stuff you can get in toys r us or supermarkets but really exclusive ones that are hard to find. If that tickles your fancy, take a look here startostartoys.tumblr.com

Hey y’all!

I know I’ve not updated this tumblr in quite a while and that’s because I’ve not really being making any personal videos recently, for the past year at least. My life has become consumed with working full-time and doing the odd corporate video in my spare time. (all very boring, nothing of interest) Also, I’ve not been able to find anyone to work with recently as most people are always “busy”. Really I think they’re just lazy bastards.

Anyway, whilst I haven’t made any films, I have been writing, and recently I have started a new blog Loose Affiliation where I have started to put some of my new articles.

If you get chance please take a look. Hopefully I’ll be able to make some more short films in the near future and i’ll post them on Loose Affiliation.

it was from Czech Republic. At first I thought it was someone trying to sell me something, turns out it was a lady after permission to screen my film, Bradlin, on Czech television. Sweet.

I just went to view a flat and the estate agent didn't even show up

i rang them and they told me i didn’t even have a booking - as if i fucking dreamt it or something.

i then rang the other estate agent who i had a viewing with who began to tell me that i was at the wrong place and had a viewing at a flat i viewed yesterday today at 1.

the point of the story is - don’t pretend you know when you’re talking about when you don’t

Sir,

I got a hell of a kick reading the piece Time magazine did this week on The Sun. In addition to wishing you the best of luck, I’d also like to offer my services.

Since I haven’t seen a copy of the “new” Sun yet, I’ll have to make this a tentative offer. I stepped into a dung-hole the last time I took a job with a paper I didn’t know anything about (see enclosed clippings) and I’m not quite ready to go charging up another blind alley.

By the time you get this letter, I’ll have gotten hold of some of the recent issues of The Sun. Unless it looks totally worthless, I’ll let my offer stand. And don’t think that my arrogance is unintentional: it’s just that I’d rather offend you now than after I started working for you.

I didn’t make myself clear to the last man I worked for until after I took the job. It was as if the Marquis de Sade had suddenly found himself working for Billy Graham. The man despised me, of course, and I had nothing but contempt for him and everything he stood for. If you asked him, he’d tell you that I’m “not very likable, (that I) hate people, (that I) just want to be left alone, and (that I) feel too superior to mingle with the average person.” (That’s a direct quote from a memo he sent to the publisher.)

Nothing beats having good references.

Of course if you asked some of the other people I’ve worked for, you’d get a different set of answers.

If you’re interested enough to answer this letter, I’ll be glad to furnish you with a list of references — including the lad I work for now.

The enclosed clippings should give you a rough idea of who I am. It’s a year old, however, and I’ve changed a bit since it was written. I’ve taken some writing courses from Columbia in my spare time, learned a hell of a lot about the newspaper business, and developed a healthy contempt for journalism as a profession.

As far as I’m concerned, it’s a damned shame that a field as potentially dynamic and vital as journalism should be overrun with dullards, bums, and hacks, hag-ridden with myopia, apathy, and complacence, and generally stuck in a bog of stagnant mediocrity. If this is what you’re trying to get The Sun away from, then I think I’d like to work for you.

Most of my experience has been in sports writing, but I can write everything from warmongering propaganda to learned book reviews.

I can work 25 hours a day if necessary, live on any reasonable salary, and don’t give a black damn for job security, office politics, or adverse public relations.

I would rather be on the dole than work for a paper I was ashamed of.

It’s a long way from here to British Columbia, but I think I’d enjoy the trip.

I’ve been applying for various jobs within film and television recently, but it seems that the majority of them are unpaid positions in or around London.

The idea is that you work unpaid for a small production company on one project, and they decide if you’re skilled enough to be paid to work on the next project. Or as I see it, you work for free on the first project, someone else works for free on the next one, someone else on the one after. Why employ people when you can have free labour?

The temptation is to move to London, get a job there and try my luck in my free time. Should I do this? Does anyone have any recommendations?

I watched this film for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It is one of the best films I have ever seen and has, in my opinion, the greatest ending of any film. It was absolutely stunning, and I am surprised by how few people I know have actually seen it.

I also watched Cool Hand Luke around the same time. Another good film - quite long and drawn out as a lot of films were back then, but I still liked it a lot.

I also watched Jackass Number 2 a couple of nights ago. I loved that as well.

I have eclectic taste.

First of all, I am genuinely sorry. I’ve been working a lot and I have had very little free time. Worse still, what little free time I have rarely coincides with the free time of my fellow creative minds and therefore I haven’t really been able to move forward with any ideas.

It’s a shame that my life has become so heavily dictated by money and time. I read somewhere that a true artist is someone who would live out of their car to realize their dream. I would do that, but I can’t at the moment because I have too many people depending on me. So I suppose a true artist is also someone who has a lot of independence.

I’ve also been meaning to write some stuff. Hopefully I’ll be able to get around to doing so and sharing it with you before too long.

Do not drift away my followers! Your patience shall be rewarded…

I know I haven’t posted a new video for a few weeks, but I’ve been working lots of hours the pay the bills, and then I came of age and I haven’t had chance to upload anything.

However, there are 3 more ITAMs left to upload. I will post 2 on this wednesday the 8th and I will post the final episode the wednesday after.
